Hey y'all. I'm new to this site and new to summer crappie fishing.I have been bass fishing and spring crappie fishing here on douglas lake in tennesse now for bout 16 years. I have been improving my catch by getting better with my electronics .I pick up a few here and there now rather then nothing like I did when I first started chasingem in summer. Only success has been from trolling crankbaits. My question is how can I get on them and catchem vertically. I'm fishing early morning , round 3am tomorrow and would appreciate any advice. I was thinking of drop shotting with 1/4 jig with grub and #2 hook with minnow bout 18 inches up . I'm using a hummingbird 587ci . I just have a hard time finding them, and when I do their so deep I can't stay on them. Especially when there 30 feet deep in over 100 feet of water.
