Thanks for the welcome! As a short introduction, I'm 66 yo and had never caught a Crappie before last Wednesday. My BIL and I took my "new" boat (14‘ pontoon with 15 HP Mariner) out to the 89 bridge on Lake Conway, AR. We sat for a couple hours with no luck til I caught a very small bass (thrown back) and then an honest to God SLAB, maybe 2 pounds. Took a picture of it and then caught a huge one! I swear he was way over 4 lbs - and on 2# test old mono line. No landing net so I tried to haul him out of the water by grabbing his jaw. Wrong! He broke the line and got away. My best chance ever for fame and fortune. Woulda been nice to have him here to brag about, but I'll try again...
The fever bit kinda hard, so I just ordered an HB 597ci HD di. Now to pop the question. Which Lakes map sd card should I buy for this thing? I'm hoping someone can steer me straight to Lakemaster or Navionics or whatever. How about a deal? Thanks for putting up with my blabber. Haven't been this enthused about fishin' since my first trout!
