Fishing is like pizza.......Even when it's not that good, it's still pretty good!

Move over and make room for this lady...just wanted to say howdy and to introduce myself. I live in Southeast Michigan in the Detroit Metro area. As you know, this area is surrounded by water so there are literally fishin' opportunities everywhere. I've been fishing most of my life and hope to be doing more of it this year since I'm now "retired". I'm watching the Detroit River action very closely so I can catch the silver (white) bass run that should be starting in 2-4 weeks. We had a nasty cold snap a couple of weeks ago so the river is still jammed up with ice in spots so it's going to take a bit longer than usual for the river to reach the magic 55 degrees. Had to give up the boat last year due to physical issues but plan on doing a lot of shore fishing, which I enjoy just as much! I'll be seeing everyone around...
Howdy! I love crappie fishin' and I think it's the best tasting fish there is as well. I've been crappie fishing ever since I was a kid. My dad used to take us out on his pontoon boat with eight foot cane poles. I've been hooked ever since.
I hope to learn here, as well as maybe share a few things I've discovered along the way here.
Looking forward to spending some down time here.
Thanks for putting up all the info for newbies. One of the best forums i've seen so far and hope to learn a lot from everyone!!

Newbie here just wanting to say hi to everyone I live in northern ky. now but grew up in lawrenceburg,ky. fishing the great salt river lol and taylorsville lake
Hello everyone. Name is pretty much applied. My grandfather and grandmother taught me how to fish when i was young, used to take me out to a military lake where we caught mostly sunfish, some crappie. Biggest thing I've ever landed was a 8lb smallmouth bass from the shore on a simple hook and worm line. Funny story that one is, i wasn't paying attention to the float as i was working with my spinner rod. Looking to get some tips from other fishermen around the country as i learned a while back that there is more to fishing than just a hook and worm. Got an assortment of spinners, spoons and crankbait. I might get back into swimbait. Going out and fishing more than just one lake around the area is where I am at right now. So anyway, glad and be here and good luck to everyone this season.
Welcome!
