    Default Question on fly lines

I received several fly reels from the wife of a deceased friend. There several reels as well of rods. My question is if there is a way to determine the weight of different lines on the reels. He had multiple reels with weight forward lines but none are labeled.

    google says:
To determine the weight of an unmarked fly line, the most reliable method is to measure the weight of the first 30 feet of the line (or 9.14 meters) and compare it to the standard AFTM fly line weight chart, according to a YouTube video. This weight is typically measured in grains. You can then consult a line weight chart to see which fly line weight corresponds to the measured weight.
    GO BIG ORANGE !

I meant to behave, but there were just way too many other options available at the time.
