The ring needs to be turned to line up the seat with the eyes. You may be able to turn the ring with the reel in the seats. Some of the other guys will know more about this and I'm sure they will let you know what to do. The rod may be a Shakespeare Wonder Rod ? Just looking at what I can see
That is an old Shakespeare reel. The rod and reel could have been a combo.
