    Default Slabfest

    Wife and I will be there - just a little slow. Wouldn't hurt though to get some new guys to build our numbers.
    I'll bring the cooking oil (2 gallons), disposable knives, forks, cups and the salt and pepper shakers.
    Also, tomorrow I'm going over to the launch - they told me today that Gazebo #5 is available - same one we talked about before - near the restrooms, has one picnic table and running water right there. They (park manager) told me it has electric, but I don't remember seeing that, but I'll double check on that tomorrow. I'll also pay for it tomorrow ($15 and odd change) - that way we're guaranteed a spot and we can bring everything to the gazebo at the time of weigh-in.
    OK?

    Last week (Thursday) launched at the park and fished up the river - 5 hours with nothing - but everyone knows my fishing skills are lacking - will be better next week.

    Guys;
    Don't know if I'm going to make it or not, maybe not.
    Still not working, money's gone, living on credit cards, attitude is way down.
    Union hall says work coming next month, that's what they said last month, and the month before........
    Am not a very happy camper these days.
    Later......

    Danny;
    Not much that I can say to perk you up. Just keep your chin up and make the best of everything.
    If you don't make it there will always be another time. You will be in our thoughts.

    Good idea to call Darryl - especially since the Florida Crappie Assoc has their tournament on Lake Monroe on April 11 this would be a good warm-up for anyone planning on fishing that.

    Default Lake Monroe Park - April 4th

    I have reserved Gazebo #5 for the slabfest and have attached a couple of pictures.
    The gazebo has water and electric, two picnic tables, trash can, etc. Some may wish to bring a lawn chair - there's a grassy area behind the restroom building.
    Rules:
    Park opens at 7am and closes at 7pm
    Those wishing to camp overnight should contact the park direct (386-668-3825) - one night for a tent is $12.
    No glass containers - drinks in cans only - beer ok - no hard booze
    $2 boat launch fee
    No profanity - whether you catch fish or not

    Since the area is reserved we all can go straight to fishing and bring all the fish fry stuff at 1am.

    The area in the river and in the nearby entrance to Lake Monroe is a Manatee zone - idle speed only - the area is patroled and stiff penalties (tickets) for violations are issued.

    John - do you know if John and Paula are attending?

    I hope that everyone doesn't wait that late.

    I was only quoting what chunky had posted about the time. I thought that he would come in and make a correction.

    NO potato salad should be enough and it would relieve one fryer for the fries and it could be used to speed along the fish.
    The items I had listed for table fare can be changed at any time.
    At each gathering we have had new foods introduced, which is great. Hate to get stuck in a rut.
