Was there twice, nice fish camp with camping and cabins, docking for boats. Lake is surrounded on all sides by cattle ranches and a
wildlife area. Good public ramp very close, but fish camp ramp wasent operable last year. Rated very high for Crappie numbers.
Lake maps at fish camp store, id be prepared for trolling as the lake would work for that also. The map will show some deeper water.
Lots of shoreline vegetation also, especially to the north of the camp. Nice population of white pelicans also, and of coarse gators.
Lake Jackson, a small very remote lake is fairly close also. Take all the food and other supplies with you as there is nothing in the area. Kenansville has a feed store and nothing else, and even that is about 5 miles away.
There is a nice little village of homes you will pass thru surrounding the fish camp and boat ramp.
Don't count on getting much fishing information at the camp store, so observe as you go, and be talking to as many of the locals and other fishermen as you can.
