I have good memories of this lake. Years ago I took my young son over to scout and fish. Because of my son a local came over and gave us specific directions to some lily pads over on the northeast side. There was a big Bream bed there. We had a ball catching and releasing fish. We kept about 10 to eat. On another trip we were fishing and a fellow starting waving his hands at us and I thought he was telling me that we were crowding him along a shoreline so I veered hard left so as not to mess up his area. Later saw him at the ramp and he was quite animated saying, "I was trying to get you to come over where I was so that boy could catch some fish." He said the fish were biting like crazy.
Bream and Shellcracker are plentiful and I read that at one time it has the highest population of Crappie (based on size of the lake) in Florida. Lots of small to medium size when we went.
