As far as where to fish, the position of the fronts dictate that and it changes some from day to day. Look for the other boats and ask around to the other fishermen, most will help some. You might troll some to find fish and then slow down and pick em off. Dipping pads will have to have a little deeper water is my thought. Lots of current since the storm so you might look for some places with less flow. I use almost 100% plastics so if you use minnows I'm not much help. Good luck and enjoy your stay.

The main structure down here are Lilly Pads. And as the water temp warms you'll start to find them in the pads, or just outside the pads. Jigs or minners works at the end of 14 ft poles dippin the pads when they're in there. And it's lots of fun. Just watch which direction the stems of those pads are going so you're not snagging more of those than crappie! lol - best of luck

Thanks for the advice skeetbum. I prefer using plastic but will fish with live baits if that is what's called for.

I dono, I just listen to whatever Shuorc tells me! doh

Hopefully he'll chime in, he's the water temp expert. He often posts temps here, but they're usually temps from the Harris Chain.

And if they ain't in the pads, spider rigging or long lining will do the trick. So don't count that out either. Most all the CM guys spider rig live minners btw.

The closer to 68 degrees the water temp gets the closer the fish get to the pads but the cold temps seems to be pushing them in and out. a couple of days with air temps in the 70s should do wonders for close in fishing.--catch a bunch--shu

Lake Monroe is a shallow flat bottomed lake ( about 8 ft average ). I drag bobbers or long line with jigs. Water temp. on Monroe was 60 deg as of Friday. I was out for 2 hours in the am and boated 14 fish. 3 over 12" the rest under 10". Good luck on your trip.
