Hi guys I'm coming down to fish 1st week in March so how is the fishing this time of year coming from Ohio was there last yr in Febuary and the fishing wasn't the best for us .Can anybody tell me a good place to stay around Buckhead Ridge or Okeechobee because we lost the place we stayed last yr due to the death of the owner thanks any help would be apreciated

The KOA campground in Okeechobee has cottages they rent, have no clue on rates, but it is a nice place and well located.
There are other campgrounds and they might also, id be checking.
Also Big Lake Lodge and RV park in Okeechobee, you might even find deer meat for dinner there. lol

Not sure of places to stay but I’ll be there the last 2 weeks of February. I’ll give a report. There is a motel in Buckhead Ridge for fisherman but the name escapes me.

booked a room at buckhead ridge two years ago. Checked in, got to our room turned around checked out. Forfeited my money, it was nasty. Was right on the water. Went and stayed at Holiday Inn Express.

We go for a week every April and stay at Roland Martin's Marina and Resort in Clewiston. We fish mostly in the Everglades which is about a 50 minute run each way, but the facilities are good and they have an excellent cleaning shed that we use each day. We fish a couple of days in the lake as well. We rent 2 bedroom condos and it works out well for us.
