    Default BOAT LIGHTS !!!!

we should be using our boat lights in dusk/ twilight and foggy conditions. fishing at lake talquin in a dense fog in blount's creek the morning of the recent crappie tournament, i had to spend as much time dodging four other boats fishing without lights. it is matter of courtesy and safety. you need lights in your boat. it's the law.

Dont ever go to Edgewater, Oak Hill or Mosquito Lagoon at night. You would have a heart attack from all the local commercial guys that believe laws on the water dont apply to them. And not just running with no lights on either. No laws apply in their mind.

Aside from the fact that it is the law, why is common courtesy so uncommon?

That fog during crappie masters was absolutely BRUTAL. We were legally abiding while out there along with the rest of the boats I saw in Oklawaha. Guess they didn't get the memo up around Blount's.

i couldn't get to oklawaha that am. i live on the other side of the lake. couldn't safely cross. i know where most of the logs are, but only if i can see them! people shouldn't need rules or memos to turn their boat lights on when visibility is that poor. i was fishing on lake eufaula in alabama years ago in an even denser fog when i heard a bass boat zoom by me about 50 mph or so. i think most fisherman in blount's that day were locals. many locals here never use their lights and often don't own any.

I do believe they have them but are afraid there batteries won't last if they use them as they should, lots like that here on Kissimmee terrible fishermen

    Always use lights at dusk
And with that, I'll see you on the water...
