After seeing how well Skeetbum and Slab did on Monroe on Thanksgiving morning, I felt that I had to try and see if I could cash in on the action too. I made it down to the ramp at a decent time and headed out into the lake. My last action took place on the east end of the lake so I thought I start out on that side instead of ending up over there. It turns out that I was not the only one who had that thought. There were all kinds of other boats out this morning.
It was a beautiful morning and there was no wind to speak of. I turned on the trolling motor and kicked back to enjoy my coffee. NOT !! a rod goes off. Things are looking good for this morning. My freezer is filling up so I'm only going to keep a few slabs for dinner this time. The first fish was not large enough to keep. Nor was the second one. or the third one. Maybe I should rethink my plan. ah, finally a keeper. I worked the area and had a lot of action all morning. My goal of keeping up with Skeetbum was even fulfilled.
I did get 4 nice size fish for dinner and I had a lot of action. I got to say hi to some of the other boats out there and it was a beautiful morning. What more can a guy ask for?
