Thanks for the tip Mike, I got a post up over there. I put some miles on her today. Didn't mess with the jack plate, seemed ok at 1.5 on the ruler on the plate. Hole shot was around 8 seconds. I was briefly able to try top end speed before it got too rough. Hit 51 at 5500. I rarely run WOT but wanted to know rpm for when I start to research props.

Oh and the midrange on this engine is a total beast, really punches when you go from 3000 to 4500 rpms

I would check with yamaha, but I think the top rpm for that motor should be 6000 rpm's. Based on what you are saying you need more pitch in the prop. Would help hole shot and top end rpm's. Could just be a learning curve. If possible ask the previous owner some of your questions. Just sayin. "D"

If I were a bettin man I would no doubt say it's me "D"! I just dropped it off to my mechanic today for a full annual service. Probably didn't need one but worth the peace of mind to me.

The other good news is I got a trade worked out so should have the Terrova by the end of the week. Looks like summertime longlining will be a go
