    Default Talquin

I am just getting started trying to learn crappie fishing. We visit Lake Talquin from time to time so we are still learning the lake and so far have had little success in locating them trolling. We caught them ok this spring in the pads and I feel like we learned a lot about that time of year, but we have been a few times since then and basically struck out. This last weekend we trolled the mouth of Bear Creek (I think) a with no bites and then moved to between the island and Polk Creek where there were a few boats and we caught 1 keeper and 1 throwback. Keeper was on live minnow and throwback on green curly tail jig. Was anyone else out there this last Sunday and if so did you catch them?

    Any advice is appreciated.

They been catching some good fish lately but from what I been hearing......not very many. Plan on going this weekend for several days.......if you down there look me up at LTL or you can always call.....478-308-9505. Don't fish with minners.....only longline trolling......sometimes jig in the lillypads in the spring.

live on talquin. all curly tail jigs no minnows. what works for me longlining is 1. popsicle(purple and pink body, chartreuse tail), 2. all white body and tail, 3.purple body and opaque chartreuse tail, 4.acid rain which white and chartreuse body with chartreuse tail, and, sometimes 5.pink body and chartreuse tail. all 2 inches, sometimes use the 3 inch all white. good fishing to you.

Looks like there is a good chance I will be on Talquin this weekend. Probably Saturday afternoon thru Tuesday. Me and the wife and kids. Will be on a G3 Pontoon.
