Back in the day, mid 70s, my buddy's secretary was Hal Barber's daughter in law. We had first hand info on how to fish them and what colors worked best. Red, silver, white was the crappie killer and black, silver, white was best for bluegill. He sold the company and they don't tie them today like the old ones, but they still catch fish.
We trolled one rod with 4# test and caught a ton of crappie, never heard of long lining or spider rigging. Hal published a brochure on how to troll at different speed and depths. That was the beginnings of my crappie fishing.
Sorry to get off topic, but Hal Flys have a special place in my fishing memories.
This is another dealer, but I buy mine locally so I don't know anything about them.
