Hey Guys can I have your input on Wind Socks? Do they work? Are they a hazzle? What kind and size to get? Best Price?
    Thanks

If you are talking drift socks, depends on your type of fishing but on windy rough days, for slow trolling can really save your batteries. Biggest drawback is storing them on your boat. Just be sure you have floating rope for them and a dump line in very useful (dump line is attached to rear and is left loose but is pulled to empty it and retrieve from water.) I use 2 42" on a 16' fiberglass boat to slow troll .6 - .8 mph all trolling motor does is keep us on track.

We use em up to 77 inch here and they help a lot, if trolling open water. If there are a lot of stumps and stuff they are a pain and we pull chains then.

    Yes they work.
Yes they can be a hassle.
Yes they are worth it in windy conditions if you spider rig.
Cabelas Advanced Angler are the best. If your not in a hurry watch and this time of year they will run some pretty good sales on them.
I run 2 48's and a 60. I have a harness made up to attach the 60 to each side of transom on the tie down eyes. If it gets real bad I will put out he 2 smaller ones on each side.

I don't find them to be to big of a pain. It's just like anything else, once you use them a time or two, you'll have the idea down.

Yes they do work and are "spider riggers dream" when needed in heavy wind to slow
    boat down.
    I use 2 48' ..............

Most of time when tournament fishing for need of space on boat - will resort to
chain. carry 3 sections 6' each - can attach together as needed with snap hook.
Attach chain sections to rope - drop out boat, tie so you are on center with
rear seat pin. add chain or rope as needed to control speed - usually enough chain
out to make you run trolling motor enough for direction only.
