    I have some of the Shimano Slade that is no longer made. If you buy the Shimano's I hope you like em. I've had mine over 10 years and still use em all the time. Wore the gears out of 1 out of 8. Have caught Redfish, Seatrout and anything else I had a mind to chase. Money well spent. I have others that may be different in some way or another but these just keep going.

    I just picked up 2 used Shakespeare Cirrus C25 reels on craigslist for $20. I have one on a 5 1/2' rod that I've been trolling with and honestly it is my favorite pole on the boat. I work with a hodge podge mix of poles and reels since I can't justify a whole new fishing pole setup just because I'm trolling all of a sudden lol. Wife would have me on the couch. I like the mix of longer and shorter rods since I'm a newb. The shorter rods with ultra light spinning reels hit just as often as my 12' B'N'M rods with counter reels. The short ones are easy to get the fish in the boat and work on the next pole since my catches seem to often come in pairs. I only have been using those longer poles for the past 3 trips and use them to be my two most outer poles with pulling from the back of the boat. Good luck out there!

    Spider rigging i use all Deep-South rods...............excellant backbone
    18's - 16's -14's - matched to Shakespear SS5 Micro-lite reels - (reels are in
    excess of 10 yrs old and none have had a problem with)
    Long-ling use Shakespear Micro-lite rods 4.6 - up to 7.0' in length matched with
    Pfluger 4410 reels. - Need lots of flex in rods to be able to use lite wgt line. Again no problems what so ever.
    Run 6 lb on Spider riggin - 4 lb on long lines..............
    Fish 3 - 5 times a week in all kinds freshwater

    Prefer Pfluger reels to anything i work with for soomthness of crank and control.
