Talquin Maggie and I just made it back from the lake. While I was slaving away on the lake, she spent the day at the beach...Team TnT had some adversities to overcome this weekend, but we still manages to find enough fish to win back the Prestigious Throwdown Trophy (which we are still waiting for that presentation) and take 3rd place in the Rusty Leverette Memorial Tournament. We fished in my buddy's boat and he had trailer tire problems on his way to the lake Friday. We were late getting on the lake for some pre fishing and then his oil pump went out...We finally got back in and got things ready for Saturday...Half way during the day his batteries went DEAD...So we went back in and stole rawhide's batteries and went back out.

Saturday was a tough day for finding good fish. Some good fish were in Harvey Mill Creek on Friday, but between the crappie fishing boats and the rude @##$%$ bass boats (Oh yeah, there were a couple of Bass Tourneys going on also) that were flying up in there, those fish left in a hurry!!! A ton a little Monroe Fish were caught, but it was hard to find the quality fish we needed for the Throwdown and Tournament. Around 1:30 or so we tried the spot where Maggie and I fished at last years Throwdown and BINGO!!!! Our first pull thru there produced 2 huge Slabs and it just kept on producing...All but 1, maybe 2, of our weigh in fish came from that spot and there wasn't another boat around anywhere. By 3:30 when the tournament ended, we had boated around 100 fish keeping 32 with our biggest 7 being good enough for 3rd Place with 12 lbs 8 oz...Thanks to the Monroe Bunch for another great Throwdown and I am looking forward to our next one in October....Just go to bed tonight knowing that winning by 4-5 lbs sure feels better than losing by 5 oz....Just had to put that little bit of Smack in there!!!...Here are a few pic from yesterday:

It keeps Talquin Maggie from smelling fish all the way home after I get done cleaning the fish

I would not have had it any other way ...That was our strategy....I catch all the Smack from you guys while our guys were out there scouting and following the fish around...I'd say the strategy worked pretty good!!

Tim, now you know there was no strategy there. It was just you on the smack talk while the others were out GIRL SCOUTING selling their cookies.

The finest gift you can give to any fisherman is to put a good fish back, and who knows if the fish that you caught isn't someone else's gift to you?"

Whether that was our strategy or not, the world may never know...But what they do know is this!!!!
