    Default April 2012 Slabfest results

Big fish went to Specktater 15 1/4 inches length weight 1.95 pounds

Total weight for five fish went to Crappieday and Up2specks 6.96 pounds.

Crappieday's largest weighed in at 1.76 pounds.

The fishing started out decent in the lake at sunrise, after about 1 1/2 hours the wind started to pick up and caused most to head up the river to get out of the wind.

Quantity of fish could have been better as several boats reported NO fish.

All in All everyone had a enjoyable day. Good fellowship and good eats.
Thanks to Chunky and Trudy for hosting slabfest at Lake Monroe, Volusia county Park, Debary, Speckanator for getting the KFC with all of the trimmings and Crappiegirl1 for the delicious carrot cake.
Thanks to up2specks for the donation of a looooong extendable fish net.
Flycaster donated several coran fish fillet boards.

Stay tuned for the planning for the 2012 Fall season slabfests.

Indications are that the first one will be scheduled for October 27, 2012 and hosted by Huntinslabs at Lake Monroe, Volusia County Park, Debary, FL

X2 what flycaster said..Congratulations specktater and team crappieday/up2specks on your win. Thanks to those that made the long trip and I hope everyone got a chance to talk with "2specks" Tom and Kay two of our newest members. Thanks to John and Doug for the door prize donations. We discussed publishing a season's schedule for our slabfests begining with October and ending in April. April would be our final get-together for the season. So, if anyone has any sugestions let John know. We plan to have one each month during that time. Cg1 took abunch of pictures and I'm sure when shet gets caught up she'll make us another video. Thanks again to everyone.

Had a good time as usual and a good day fishing with up2specks, thanks for the net Doug.
Dropped up2specks off at the launch and took my son out for a few more, the wind was even more brutal. But we did catch a few.

    up2specks big fish

Back out with my son. On the water @ 5:30am off the water at 6pm...........

    Default Correction!!

    Posted br Flycaster:

Big fish went to Specktater 15 1/4 inches length weight 1.95 pounds

Total weight for five fish went to Crappieday and Up2specks 6.96 pounds.

Crappieday's largest weighed in at 1.76 pounds.

The weight is correct but it's in the wrong format or at least one we're used to. The setting on the scale was for lbs and I didn't see the one for lbs and oz, which we should have used. So here's the updated weight:

    SPECKTATER 1.95 LB = 1 LB 15.2 OZ

    CRAPPIEDAY 1.76 LB = 1 LB 12.1 OZ

    TEAM CRAPPIE DAY/UP2SPECKS 6.96 LBS = 6 LBS 15.36 OZ (five fish)

Sorry folks we'll do better next time.

All I see is more big specks from Monroe. Wish I could have made it. Thanks for the pics as always.
