Default ***New 2 Crappie Fishing in Thonotosassa, FL***

Just would like to say hello to everyone on CDC. I have always been into bass fishing but just recently discovered how big crappie/speck fishing is and I believe I like it! Yesterday was my first strictly crappie fishing trip. I went to a small lake that a few locals told me to try! I didn't catch any but there is crappie in the lake! When I was throwing my bait net for minnows I got a few small crappie in the net!

have fished that lake for 15 plus years and probably only caught 5 - 6 crappie out
of there..many many cats, gar, bluegill, some nice shellcrackers & hefty bass in it.

years ago it was said to be a great spot for spec's: Orange grove runoff, commerical
fishing of lake and other pollution run-offs - killed off most of spec.

Hope you continue to fish it for spec's, and let us know the outcome - enjoy being
    proven wrong about a lake...........

    Thanks for your update

The lake is not Thonotosassa! It's a little lake in Dover off of MLK! Not sure of the name but there is a little public boat ramp! You know the lake?

I know of one little lake in Dover off of McIntosh Road that is close to MLK...And back to the west is Lake Hooker and Lake Weeks...Never tried any of those lakes. I used to run a route in that area but never fished there.
