Thread: Marabou Crappie Jigs

good for vert jigging and spider rigging. they hold scent and have great action when going slow. colors are gonna depend on water color and temp. in my opinion.

some people swear by em, i really dont like using them, never had much luck with em, BUT i guess its all on how you use em. I would reather have a stick tail grub or slab slayer if i vertical jig which i very rarely do and when i spider rig which i only do a few times a year i like to use the Ron Zip jigs or either Slater jigs. if we knew where you were located someone could prob also help ya a lil more

I agree with the previous posts too. They say the marabou jigs when held still, appear to be breathing underwater. So if you can hold them as still as possible, which is difficult to do, the jig will actually be slightly moving, which can trigger bites that other jigs won't. I have slowly been coming around to using them more often. I am about to purchase more online, so it's kind of funny to see this post today.

Im in Central Florida hillsborough county area.

Hmmm. I used to live in North Tampa. It drove me crazy because of the lack of freshwater in the area. I fished Lake Tarpon a few times. There are supposed to be some nice crappie over there. Depending on what part of the county you reside, you'll probably need to drive a little to get to the better lakes over near Lakeland. Just my two cents.
