I've been a knife wielding bear since I was prolly about 10. The first real paycheck I ever earned was 50 bucks from working at Sears in the stock room. I ran right down to the knife store and bought a Almar bone handled slim lockback with a nice little leather pocket sheath. Great knife, and I'm a real knife fan. I like Kershaw, Boker, Gerber and Benchmade myself.

I you guys want a real treat go to Sevierville, TN and go to the Smoky Mountain Knife Works Showroom & National Knife Museum. Its supposed to be the largest knife store on earth and is amazing.

This is what I carry - nice little knife - super light - sharp - don't need to worry about losing it. http://www.eknifeworks.com/webapp/eC...ault&SKU=G6050
Good things come to those who bait.

    Default Pocket knife of choice

I'm a great conasure (kant' spele) of knives, and currently carry a Masters of Defense folding knife. Greatest knife I have ever owned and feel very naked without it.

Papasage I don't know if he would be intersted in having them, I have been a farrier for almost 30 yrs and periodicly over the years knife makers have approached me about getting my old horseshoeing rasps when they are worn out. I want to say that the knives they made were more of the ornate/replicas, etc....type rather than high carbon keep an edge type.
I had guys offer to buy em but always just gave em to them. I use Save-Edge rasps which are about the best rasp made. I would imagine a search would maybe get you some info to find out about the properties of the metals in them.
Just an offer, since moving here from TX 4 yrs ago I have had no call for the culls would be glad to save em up and he can have them for the shipping if he wants.

    Default Pocket knife

These days I am pretty much attached to my Leatherman. I am in building maintenance, and for small stuff, that tool has saved me a trip to the van many a time. As for knives, I have a few, but will always be most attached to the Case Sod Buster Jr. When I was a boy my uncle bought me one for my first knife - man was I thrilled! I do prefer the older sort of pocket knives as opposed to the newer designs. God Bless, Alec

Ive always carried a pocket knife, my uncle gave me my first one when I killed my first rabbit. It was a case trapper model ,I still have it and I collect case knives now. I bought my nephew his first case knife when he was 7 and he carries it everywhere except school. I buy him at least 2 knives a year for his birthday and christmas.
