Default About my deep cycle battery ?

My trolling battery is getting old so i called the place were i bought my other battery at and this guy was telling me in order to get the full use out of your deep cycle battery you should completely drain you battery and recharge a few times before actually using it.

Well, it depends. If we're talking flooded lead acid batteries, you need a new battery dealer. Flooded lead acid should never be discharged below around 30%. The battery retains memory and will never be able to charge back to it's full capacity. The more this is done, the more damage is done.

Knew I shouldn't have went on memory on that 30% statement. That link states 80%. I was way off.

Chief, if this is not a sticky it should be. There are many newbys coming on all the time and we all can benefit from a refresher once in a while.

    Thanks for producing...one more time.
