Default Lowrance Finder H2o Gps + Waas Receiver

Ok Call Me Stupid When I Got My Boat I Wasn't Thinking About Gps On My Fish Finders. So Wife Got Me This Lowrance H2o Hand Held Unit. Its Ok For What I Do. But I Would Like To Be Able To Get More Out Of My Unit. I See On The Lowrance Website That They Have A Program And A Computer Cable For This Unit. Has Anyone Out There Used It? And Can Anyone Tell Me Anything About It?

    Thanks,

    Dan

Can't see where it's NEMA 2000 network compatable, think the cable and program are for the mapping functions. Have linked my Lowrance 17m with the Furuno 4100 used in the front of the boat and am satisfied with that information. It sure would be nice to use the H20 c interfaced with a fishfinder thru the NEMA interface.--shu

Dan, It will work just fine for your uses. I have a b/w version that I use to mark brushpiles. What else are you wanting to do with it?

I WOULD LIKE TO PLUG IT INTO MY LAPTOP AND PRINT OUT WAYPOINTS AND LOOK FOR OTHER AREAS THAT ARE THE SAME DEEPTHS THAT I AM FISHING ALREADY. MINE IS BLACK AND WHITE ALSO.

Do you have a memory card in it? You can store your waypoints to that card and then transfer them into a waypoint program and with that you should be able to manipulate the data to find what you are looking for I would assume. I personally just look for brushpiles and mark them. I use GPS TrackMaker to manage my way points.

You might also PM'ing Canepole about what you are trying to do. He may have a better suited program for your wants/needs.

I am not familiar with the h20, but, if it were me I would just buy the pc data cable.

I would then download the free version of Easy GPS.

Easy Gps allows you to manage waypoints, tracks, and routes.

I would also download Google Earth. You can look at your tracks and waypoints and routes on google earth and google maps free.

Easy gps saves files as gpx extensions.

You can used GPS Babel ( another free program) and convert the GPX file to KML files that google earth uses.

It is fun to mess with and easy to use.

    These are good training/learning tools.

All gps do the same thing. It is not magic.
