It's probably just crosstalk between the units in the water. They seldom interfere with each other via the cables unless the power wire is shared and is undersized. No real way to avoid it if the units are near the same frequency unless they are newer Lowrance units (don't know if H'bird has anything similar) with the ethernet ports.

Make sure that both transducers point straight down, and try playing with the sensitivity.
