You got a point there. I have a Garmin street GPS in the Tahoe.

Well we can cross that one off, pretty healthy price for a GPS. If I was still working I may have gotten the company to vouch for it. Thousand would be top investment for me.

    Thanks again

    Default Went with

I went with the Garmin Oregon 400c. Now I have to figure out how to use it.
Had to buy a additional card for the NE lakes.
Thank you all for helping me select my GPS.

Most statements of "money is no object" prove to be false later, if not sooner. I've got a cheap Magellan Sportrak for fishing/hunting spots. It works ok, but the repeatability is not very good, at all. The old saying, "you get what you pay for" is getting out-dated. Now, it is more likely, "you get what you pay for, if you're lucky". Good luck with your search.

Edit: I was looking at those too. The Oregon series look like they would be easier to see. Let us know how it works for you.

So far the Oregon is great. Still in the learning curve but I find it real easy to use. Lot of good extras. Good graphics and I really like the touch screen. Seems to be pretty accurate but I haven't done any brush pile pin pointing yet.
Came with the waterway. I had to dish out a extra $100 for the lake chip. Go on road map chip, topo chip, and so on. Had to get a AA battery charger or catch that pink rabbit. Batteries are only good for a long day on the water.
