    Default MinnKota maxxum blowing fuses

Hey guys, I have a MinnKota Maxxum 70 lb. 24volt TM that has given me no trouble for 11 years.

This year it is blowing fuses at higher speeds....40% or more.

The fuse holder is very warm as soon as the fuse blows but it doesn't seem to be corroded to cause a bad connection.

I wired this boat myself and used #6 multistranded wire and a heavy guage fuse holder with 30 amp fuses for the TM.

    Any ideas anyone?

MK recommends 50 amp fuses or breakers for that motor.

    Thanks IBNFSHN,

I couldn't find that info anywhere in my owner's manual.

Went to my local marine supply store and bought a 50 amp breaker.

Used it on one fishin trip so far from 9am to 8pm with no troubles.

Maybe that problem's fixed.....now if I can just get my lower unit fixed.......

Oh well.....I don't need that big motor for spider riggin anyway......
