I bought this unit last year from HB and this year they're obsolete. Anybody with a good sense of the reasoning behind this madness?

That is why I`m becoming a Vexilar fan. This small company sticks to what they are doing and sevices their products for many years out.
Vexilar doesn`t have GPS but their sonar is second to none in my opinion.
I have the Edge II only problem is they are not cheap.
