Unhappy Garmin 72, how to input Cooridinates (lat n' lan)

I have never figured out how to work this thing. The instructions are written in (almost) a foreign language.

I'd like to know how to input a destination using the latitude and longitude.

Maybe somone who understands his Garmin could emal me with more help?
I just wish I could be better at fishing. Or maybe luckier!:D

Where did your coordinates come from? (What brand unit) Some have different ways to input them.

What I do is go outside and get the sats and then hold down enter, it will save your present location. Then hi-lite the coordinates and change them to the ones you want to input, hi-lite the name section and name it. If I understand you ? right. I'm sure there are other ways but that works for me. I hope you have gotten the WAAS update from the Garmin site or you will have to keep it turned off, all you get is a line on the screen if it is not off.

Depending on your source for the lat/long, it might be in a different format. I forget what the formats are called, but the 72 will allow you to change between the different formats if you're trying to input something that's not compatable.

Without my unit in hand, I can't walk you through the steps, but it sounds like SteveJ's instructions will lead you through inputting the co-ords, assuming the format is compatable.

A lot like the old Wannabe... except with fewer bad words. And Karate chop action. But, yes, still purtier than you.
