    Stevem,
Did you do the switch on yours??
I called Humminbird and they said it would not make any differance and that the 797 would still work the same. Hmmmmmm. Guess we need more feedback on this one guys!!
Sure would like to get it if it made a big difference, especially the SI. Right know it is just to hard to really make those brush piles or trees out very well

I have my sinsitivity down to about 10 I think, & it does a great job. HB can say what they want to but I still have the other transducer. I'll swap the 2 & anybody can see the difference.

After I purchased my 797 and used it for the first time on my trolling motor the quality was really bad. After posting the issue on the unofficial web site I got a reply from a HB rep telling me that I had trolling motor interference. He said call customer support and let them know which trolling motor I had and they would send me a kit.
Well I did just that and they were very nice about the issue and sent me the huge ducer and a kit for my MK motor.
    The difference was amazing.
Maybe they will help with other things as well and we all know what that is.
    LOL
Soak em if you got em

Shoot, not that I know of Wiskers, but you never can tell for sure
Never been able to go back very far on the "White" side of the tree,
seems like folks here in the hills weren't much on keepin records too well
back years ago, and a lot of those folks passed on before I was old enough to
much remember. I do know we have some sort of history over around
Bear Creek, AL back four generations or so ago.

When you guys are talkin slabs for the transducer. Does the one for the 997 look the same and is the same size as the one that came with my 797? Are the insides to it different than the one that is used on the 797?
