My x96 transducer is on the port side of the transom. So I should be good putting the new one on the starboard side, correct???
Having said that, I mounted on the Port side and it's done OK, but sometimes I'll pick up prop wash if I'm trying to move too fast while Si'ing. As far as proximity to the X96 ducer, I don't thing the proximity of the two would be a problem unless you're trying to run them at the same time - might get some interferance.
Yes I would like to be able to run both at the same time, I will have 36"
between the two will that be enough??
The other issue, if they're too close together is possible blockage of the SI signal from hitting the X96 ducer. Probably won't happen as the H'bird sticks out a good bit further than a normal one.
All this is exactly why I bought a tranducer mounting plate - you might have to move it a few times before you get it right and the only way to know for sure is to mount it and try it. I've moved mine 3 times so far.
