WAIT, yes, wait until the 2009 model 797 renamed the 798 comes out. It will have two card slots so U can take picts & use a map if desired at same time, 640 x640 pixs, & 5in screen, I believe it will also have 3 preset buttons for flippin between screens just like big boy cousins, much much nicer than 797 in my 2cent opinon(own 997) & maybe a better unit................

I would definitely get a unit that has two card slots. I have hotmaps in one of mine and an SD card for storing snapshots and video in the other.

It is a very neat toy and I don't think you will have any regrets. Prepare to be amazed at what you can see.

Yes, wait on the new 798, you will be glad you did. Expect the GPS to be a little slow to update your position. Can be frustrating. And yes, prepare to lose fishing time for a while......while you are glued to the screen in amazement finding everything that is down there.

I wonder what that is??

Transducer has to be mounted outside hull doesn't it.
And not directly on the pad I would assume.

Not crosseyed but that price is right in ballpark as 798 replaces 797 & HB stated it would remain in same price range.

If you got the money get and you will be amazed. The first few trips you will just ride and look for hours.
