Thread: Help with purchase of side image for Crappie

I ordered my tonight from J&H. They have the best price I've found.

Now, who lives near Lake Seminole and can spend a day on the water teaching me how to use this thing. I'm still trying to set my VCR to record while I'm on vacation.

I appreciate all the good information you've given me.

Now I have to order the maps. I believe I can get them from J&H also.

These units sound great but.... I wonder if they have the same screen refresh rate issues as the 797.

At the risk of calling you guys Ginny pigs;:D please let us know how they do. I would like to upgrade but I'm gonna hold off till I see how they work.

Oh, and you guys that are ordering from J and H... They are great and consistantly have lower prices than anywhere else. I have bought a ton of stuff thru them but... make sure you are not getting the unit without the transducer unless that is the one you want. "CHO" stands for Control Head Only.

These units have a 50 channel reciever unit as opposed to the 797's 16 channel, so should be better.

As for the unit yhe only changes are the slightly larger screen & 640X640 pixel display & soft keys & dual card slot. It should be just an upgraded mini 997.

I don't know about others but the unit from 3 rivers is a 798c si which includes transducer.

I am looking forward to receiving mine tommorrow & hopefully having a chance to try it this weekend.

So far, they don't indicate that it's been shipped.

You might call & ask for the ups tracking number. Then you can track it on ups web site.

Ronnie...I ordered about 8:30am Tuesday morning and that night the order was still pending, but when I checked Wednesday morning it had been shipped from Memphis and was on the truck for delivery. I had it by 11:00am and yes it has the transducer and also comes with a nice Humminbird cover.

Tell me, are you planning to add a trolling motor transducer and move this new unit from driver's seat to bow, or what? I suspect I'll wait a while and see how it works out on the water.
