Default On board (boat) computer now working....

Finally got back to my on board boat computer project. Got sidetracked with the SI stuff.

It is now operational. I am using the Garmin 3010C as the monitor. I built up an IPX motherboard and installed it in a Voom Box. I installed Windows XP operating system. I then installed Oziexplorer and Kentucky Hydrografx maps.
Wired in the serial port DB9 and now I cans switch between screens with the touch of a button. I can now view Garmin fishing hot spots, Ky Hydrografx maps, underwater camera, The T.U.R.D. rov camera.

Man this is fun. I will install all this stuff permanently when I get my boat back after War Eagle repaints they boat.

Here are a few pics. This is just a hobby of mine.

Great project.. Now that you can view these maps on the lake.. What is the advantage over a nav card compatible GPS unit?

Where did you get such a big Garmin, Tom? Cool project...I'm sure u will have all the kinks worked out by the Grizzly Jig show. That would be a good time for you to install my system. :D

Paint coming off at the gas filler. Clear coat problem. Jhef had the same problem with his Xpress.

I ain't fooling with the dealer.............

I talked to Paul Ward and he said they would come pick the boat up whenever I wanted to let loose of it. Prob after Xmas.......

Tom, you're simply amazing. I wish I had half the knowledge you possess. I'd be happy if I could network my 520c to a monitor on the back half of the boat. Keep up the posts on this as this project you have undertaken has captured my interest.
