Default MK power drive TM problem

Hey any one with this trolling motor, when I stow the motor it is very difficult to " unstow" it just hangs up, I have to sit down in boat and push with my foot on the head to get it to slide off the mount, anybody got any ideas how to fix. Its not the catch they have built in to hold it stowed, i can barely get the foot of the motor to slide up that far. I bought this motor last year, and I am trying to get used to the power drive and new foot control, but this stowing problem can't be right confused:

Ihave a Terrova, and have the same problem. Stows easily, but I have to use my foot to get it to deploy.

These power drives can accidentally deploy. It is not covered under warranty. Richard Williams pointed this out to me. The motor engage collar must be adjusted to prevent deployment when motoring. The warning is printed on the unit.

RAM Mount makes a stow mount to help prevents this underway deployment from happening. I just use a rubber tie down and strap it to my seat pedestal. Cheaper than a Ram Mount. Works.

I have never had mine to try to deploy when I did not want it to, but after reading some of the other posts, I put a velcro tie down strap on mine. Just a little cheap insurance.

    Default another thing to try

IBNFSHN posted this..I oil (3 in 1) these rubber shock snubbers. I also apply Vaseline to the cradle and the area on the tm that rides in the cradle.

    Default added deploy rope too

For lazy butts.......I hold the rope against the tm shaft to control deploy speed...

I stand up to deploy using the rope. Works great.

I never did try oiling the rubber shock thing's....But I do occasionally put some Armorall on the shaft and in the cradle...Has worked like a charm And I especially like Cane Poles method of driving the TM back up to the stow position:D
