jabbo, let me know when you hear. I am dying to get this going. Tired of holding my foot pedal in my lap and dropping it on my foot when I get a bite. Toes are all banged up!

I will and I know exactly what you mean. But if you are as bad off as we were you will be cutting the cable off your foot control like we did, because I never plan on going back to it.Good luck.

    Default Thanks JABBO!

    JABBO,
I am also making a hand control for my V2. I want to keep my foot control intack so I can switch back and forth depending on what type of fishing I am doing at the time. I want to find a cable or I will install different plugs. I would like the get a cable if you find them. I work with electronics and planning on adding a burst/letoff button that can be used while fishing in windy conditions. This will be a pararell circuit of an additional (burst/letoff) 1K variable resistor to the (running speed) 1K variable resistor with a double pole momentary pushbutton to open running speed circuit and close burst/letoff circuit for a momentary speed adjust. I hope it works like I think it should. I have ordered the parts and going to work on it next week. Thanks JABBO for sharing your info.

When you start talking electronic circuits versus electrical circuits, I'm in over my head, but let me throw this at yall: the Terrova has four wires from the foot control to the head. Does it make sense that the wires would be common, left steer, right steer, and motor, and if I could identify the motor lead, could I put the var resistor in that circuit? Probably too simple, but simple minds have simple ideas. Of course I don't have any clue where the copilot on/off plays into this.

If I'm not mistaken the Terrova foot control uses a transmitter/receiver for the auto pilot operation(probably the reason for only 4 wires). So that would be expensive to build, other than that I would have to look at the control.

You can get these waterproof connectors pretty cheap. Cheaper than the waterproof DB9 I mentioned above. Whatever you do, make it waterproof.

Hello Cane Pole, I'd like to try my hand at making a hand control, but I don't want to ruin my foot control in case I need it at a later time. Looking at the connectors you referenced, would I cut about a foot off the plug end of my foot control, then use a matched pair of these Buccaneer waterproof connectors so I could still use the foot control? Then I would need the proper wire and another connector to run to the hand control I build. I guess I would need 2 of one type connector, and one of the other. If you would be so kind, could you list the item numbers I would need? Also would you know what item numbers I would need from Radio Shack, box, rocker switches, push button switch etc? Thanks!
