    Question 967c

I know this question has been asked many times. How do i set up the 967c so that I can see my hook and weight? Why dont I see trees and other structure on the 3d screen? I also have a 987ci. My alarm buzzer does not work. Is that because that I might have it turned off or is it broken?

Default Now that you brought this up

Why does anyone need to see their jig/hook/weight on screen anyway? Just curious.

Seems to me a lot of fuss over somethin' that don't mean nothin'.

If I see a fish mark at a certian depth on my graph my confidence sure goes up if I can also see my jigs at the same depth or slightly higher in the water column. I sure feel like I'm putting the baits in the optimun position to catch a fish if they chose to open their mouth.

    Ok. I see the point.

I never do this. Wonder why I catch fish? I must be lucky.

Have no experience with the 967, but I pretty sure the answer is going to lie in the sensitivity and noise rejection/clutter settings. Try running them up and down for the best combination - the more more sensitivity the more clutter.

Past that, try keeping your jig in the very center of your transducer beam. You might even try tilting the ducer slightly foward to project the beam in front of the trolling motor slightly to make it easier to get the jig into the beam.

When I get my line near the transducer, I wrap line in the TM. How you stop that from happening if you gonna fish in the "center of the beam"?

Dang you're a literal kind of guy ain'tcha.

I meant as close to center as possible. The closer to the center, the better chance the finder has of picking up the return of the lure with as much return as possible. And yes, I have gotten my line in the prop. I consider that kind of stuff character building. I have lots of character.

If you can see the hook and the fish you can put the bait in the strike zone. You can see the fish approach the bit and strike. I thought Jody from Humming Bird would have an answer for me.
