Thread: Question about F/F

In the picture below is the fish actually at 4 & 5' fow.

I have transducer on trolling motor,about 1' in the water.

I thought someone told me that I had to add or subtract some off of what is displayed.Any help is appreciated as this is my 1st ever toy like this

If your xducer is 1' below the surface of the water then the fish at 4' are actually 5' below the surface. Most modern DFs have a setting you can compensate for the xducer depth. Its called keel offset or transducer offset.

Thanks IBNFISHN I did recall seeing that keel stuff (didnt touch it as didnt know what it was) I will try to learn how to get it to show actually reading.
