Mine stays hooked that way. You get even pull off both batteries and IMO makes them last longer. If one battery is weaker than the other I wouldnt recommend it. A weak battery ( or less powerful one) will start pulling down a stronger battery when the cables are commected.
will they both charge at the same time fully?

They will charge like that, but it will take a while. The batt that the charger is hooked to will charge, then the other batt will charge off of that one. If you have an automatic charger, it will cut off and on till both are charged, it just takes a little longer...
greenchicken....I have my two batteries hooked the same way....I got two Guest bank chargers on sale a Cabelas for $79.00 each...hooked one lead to each of my trolling motor batteries...that way each has its own charger. Best thing I ever done was getting bank chargers instead of lugging around two battery chargers.
thanks now think about this, hook the + on one battery and the _ on the other battery should charge evenly with one charger ? right or wrong

It doesn't really matter how you hook the chargers. Both batteries will charge at the same time and to the same state. As far as the charger is concerned, it's just one big battery.
