just purchased a humminbird 787c2i with nvb my question is that my gps speed bounces around real bad at any thing under 1.0 i know that they are not suppose to be that accurate less than 1.0 but i had a garmin 178c and lowrance before i purchased this unit and they read steady untill i got below
.5 mph any info would be welcome.I was wondering if it is the unit or just an
accuracy problem

Hey Speck,
You should just toss that thing in the trash. (Just tell me where you live first.) I need one for my boat.
Buzz
CrappieStalker and I were discussing that very issue the other night. Mine seemed fine during the early part of the day and seemed to go hay wire in the afternoon. His seemed to be screwie all day. Glad you brought it up because I feel like there may be a problem with the unit. Don't get me wrong I like the unit but it needs some tweeking. The sonar portion is the bomb, I like the detail. May just ahve to play with it a little more to get here broke in...who knows.

i had one and it didnt do that but ive upgrded to a 1197. as dopr crappie hounds problem im thinking the voltage might be an issue and that once your battery wears down a little it might be struggling to get enough current,... i run all my electronics on a battery seperate from everything else.. im curious to how speck and hound have thee electronics hooked up
Well...I have my unit hooked up to the battery that runs the big motor. I did notice on my last trip that the voltage was a little low. You may be right John...I'm going to change it over to my backup battery for my trolling motor that doesn't have anything on it. I'll get'r done this evening before I head to Reelfoot tomm. Hope that solves the problem.
Thanks for the input my friend.
Happy Fishing,
