    Default Motor Problems

What about a 50 Merc. 2 stroke that is getting hot and buzzer going off. Cut motor off and cool down and runs fine, still pumping water fine? Since I dont know a thing about what could be the problem?

Partially clogged intake, bad thermostat, or weak water pump (impeller).

    Default Getting Hot

DTG, Is it a steady continuance beep, or a beep, beep, beep?, I just went through the same thing. Mine was a bad low oil sensor that is in the underside of the oil tank on the motor.
It was a beep, beep, beep the continuance beep is a heat warning. If it's peeing a good stream the water pump would be ok I would think.
I would check the thermostat, maybe you could unhook the wire to it to see
    if it stops beeping.
    Good Luck.............crappie cowboy

I have an old 115 merc and was getting a stream and the beep. Replace the water pump as a friend told me to do and it cured my problem.
