If the beam angle is 20deg .... then it's basically the same as a 20deg cone of a 2d depth finder .... so the cone would be about 1/3 as wide as the distance. That would mean the beam at 10ft distance would be ~3ft wide - 20ft distance = ~7ft wide - 30ft distance= ~10ft wide.
