RK1, ur pretty much stuck with what u have. With pwm full on is full on. Some efficiency is lost in the pure dc to pwm process. This is an active process so no large amounts of heat is produced at low speeds as would happen with a rheostat which is a passive brute force type of control. Pwm or some derivative of pwm is still the most efficient way to go. Even in large three phase motors.
