The 2d channel is pin#6 in all HB "house shaped" xducer cables (including the Y cables and xducer extension cables) ...



Using the AS SIDB Y cable = 2d data is "cut off" from the HDSI (or DI xdcuer) and redirected to/from the "Dual Beam" leg of the AS SIDB Y cable ...



If the AS SIDB Y cable is indeed in your Setup ...there is no way for the 2d data to be getting from the HDSI (or DI xducer) to the head unit ...because there is no 2d wire channel in the "Side Image" leg of the AS SIDB Y cable ...

Notice in the diagram (of the AS SIDB Y cable above) that the 2d pin #6 is absent connecting the HDSI xducer cable ...

Is it possible you are using the AS SILR Y cable instead of the AS SIDB Y cable ...??

FIRST THANK YOU RICKIE, I AM USING THE AS SIDB Y CABLE,THE VERY ONE I USE ON 998 FOR SLANTED DUCER,NOW I PUT IT ON 859DI WITH SLANTED SI DUCER,I EVEN LOOK AT THE PIN HOLE ON CABLE AND IT IS MISSING TOP PIN CONNECTION AS DIAGRAM HAS FOR SI DUCER AND ON 2D SIDE IT ONLY HAVE PIN CONNECTOR FOR TOP WHICH IS 2D, AND MIDDLE WHICH IS GROUND, THIS IS WHAT IS CONFUSING ME,LOOKS IMPOSSIBLE TO ME ALSO. WILL TEST IT AT THE LAKE AGAIN NEXT WEEK BUT DONE TESTED IT TWICE AND RECONNECT ALL OF IT AGAIN

The easiest quick test I've found for determining if a certain piezo is transmitting ...is to pull the xducer out of the water while watching the respective Sonar screen for data being sent to the head unit ...

RICKIE, I HAVE A SLANTED DUCER THAT SWIVEL AND WHEN I GOT IT STRAIGHT DOWN BOTTOM IS RIGHT AND WHEN I SLANT IT ,IT GOES WACKY.NEXT WEEK WILL DO MORE TESTING,THEN WILL SEE WHAT HAPPENS

There are imaging algorithms that use the digital depth in calculations ...

Your imaging (regardless of which way the piezo is "aiming") will be more stable if the digital depth were pointing straight down for correct digital depth ...

In a slanted xducer Setup this would be accomplished with a 2nd Dual Beam and the AS SIDB Y cable ...

Is this your setup ...??

SORRY I DID NOT MAKE MYSELF CLEAR,THE 2D IS ON AS SIDB Y CABLE AND FOR SOME UNEXPLAIN REASON YET ,IT IS NOT PICKING UP THAT DUCER BUT STILL PICKING UP 2D ON MY SLANTED DUCER,MY POINT IN LAST MESSAGE WAS THAT I KNOW IT IS STILL PICKING UP 2D FROM SLANTED SI DUCER BECAUSE IT GOES BACK TO RIGHT DEPTH WHEN I MOVE DUCER TO STRAIGHT DOWN WITH MY CONTROL STICK,AGAIN I HAVE CHECK TO SEE IF ALL PARTS ARE HOOK UP RIGHT AND IT IS JUST LIKE YOUR DIAGRAM,GOING THIS WEEK AND WILL DISCONECT EACH PIECE AT A TIME,IT DON'T MAKE SENSE TO ME EITHER,USE IT OVER A YEAR OR 2 WITH MY 998 AND DID FINE,SAME SET UP ONLY NOW ON 859DI,WILL FIGUE IT OUT SOON,I HOPE,LOL
