    Default Helix 7 Maps Question

I just received my Helix 7 and had it installed. I took it out for the first time yesterday.

I was planning to use the "base map" until I learned which mapping card to buy. I was shocked to see that the base map had NO information other than a lake outline with zero information/contours!

So I clearly need one. My question is this: What are the advantages/disadvantages of the Navionics Gold or Hotmaps or Lakemaster maps?

I appreciate all help! (And I will be using it on Georgia/South Carolina lakes, if that matters).

    Thank you!

For the Gold or the Hotmap those 2 products are discontinue and replace by the Navionics+; the Nav+ is pre-loaded with the US and Canadian waters. You only need to download the Sonarcharts (HD layer) for the water you intent to fish.
You can look at the region you fish here and don't forget to click on the blue button on the left corner once activated, that brings-up the Sonarcharts layer:

There are a bunch of things you can do with the Lakemaster chip that cannot be done with the Navionics. Check your manual for all the options.
