    Default SD card

When I finish transferring points with my SD card...can I wipe the card clean using my 998 without taking the added points off the unit

I don't know of any way to erase what is on the SD card with the unit .... it would have to be done with your computer.

If you export your waypoint to the SD card, it is a good idea to bring them into Humminbird PC on your computer to back the waypoints up.....You can't have too many backups .... and then erase of format your SD card.

Why erase them? Like Bob said back them up to Humminbird PC and just leave on card. Your never going to fill the card up. And when you mark new way points and export to your card it just adds the new ones. Then when you import to unit it just over rights the ones you have with the old and new ones. Never lose anything.

What they said! I've got a backup on HumminbirdPC, on 2 different thumb drives, keep a SD in each unit to back up on and record, and on top of that, I keep a copy stored on my cloud! You can never have too many backups or enough access to them!

I think you would have to be running the parallels software for Humminbird PC to work.

Mac wont work brother unless you jailbreak it and add a software. U dont want to do that. Voids all warranties im pretty sure. Same predicament im in. I love my mac tho! They say that there is a mac version.....I have tried to do it multiple multiple times and it does not work. Cheapest thing to do is buy a used or new cheap laptop if all ur going to use it for is humminbird pc. May even have co-workers have some that arent updated that they will give you even. Good luck in your endeaver!
