Here's a question for u rickie.the helix 12 has more pixels than the onix 10,but the helix 12 is a larger display.
My question is,of the two units, which would have the better detail, going by specs only?

The math indicates the Helix 12 should have better detail ...

    Pixel density comparison

    Onix 10 - 1024h X 768v = 786,432 pixels/square inch

    Onix 8 - 1024h X 768v = 786,432 pixels/square inch

    Helix 12 - 1280h X 800v = 1,024,000 pixels/square inch

    Helix 10 - 1024h X 600v = 614,400 pixels/square inch

    Helix 9 - 800h X 480v = 384,000 pixels/square inch

I also surmise that the brighter nit Helix screen will play into what the user perceives as "more detail" ...

    We will see ...

May not be all that bad ..... The guys that are testing them say they operate pretty much like the existing core units ...... Except they have Autochart Live included.

Thought I would cut out the dementions of the helix 12 to compare side by side with the onix 10.To my surprise, it's not all that much bigger.

that's a great picture! I wonder if the chirp will eventually trickle down to the smaller screened units
