    Default What will I need??

To make my 798ci si combo talk to my MK Terr. Ipilot Ilink so I could use it to follow contours on my home lakes in Ill. Ky. ( think it is the east region ) I don't have a LakeMaster or Navionics card in ether one of the units. I know I will need one so if someone has one for my area.. please chime in. Also will I have to download something on the remote for the trolling motor to read such thing. If so were do I go to do that and what will I need. Do I go to the Hbird site for these upgrades? Unites are NOT HD.. Thanks Fish

The I-pilot link is an Ethernet accessory ...... Unfortunately, the NON-HD 798 does not have Ethernet capabilities.

That's a shame.. I had this 798ci si combo as a spare in the box and it's outdated before it got its first amp of current ran through it's processor. May have to trade for a I-pilot link compatible unit. Will the Humminbird HELIX 5 or 7 DI/GPS Combo work with the I-pilot link? If so what card would be the best for these unit.

The Helix 5 and 7 also do not have Ethernet .... The new Helix 9, 10, and 12 are supposed to, but the full info is not out on these yet.

The 898 that clfarms1 has will work.

If you already have the I-pilot link version of the Terrova (it has to be the I-pilot link, not just the I-pilot), you are good there, but you will need an Ethernet cable and a Lakemaster card that is I-pilot compatible to be able to follow the contour. The early Lakemaster cards won't work, just make sure the one you get says I-pilot compatible on the card.
I'm not sure what version of the unit software started supporting follow the contour........If Rickie doesn't check in with the answer to that, I will look it up.

I believe the follow contour function requires a Lakemaster chip.

Looks like 6.570 added iLink coding ...
    998 Software Update Features

Like Bob mentions ... The LakeMaster card must say iLink on the card for the "Follow the Contour" feature to work ...

And also like Bob mentions .. The iLink for the Terrova is a complete head change ...
