Well it was too good to be true. I tried some cleaning paste like used to clean copper connections for soldering or splicing. At first it looked like I had a good signal, but it was not to be. I put the HB385 back on and it has the same problem so I am down to either the transducer of the adapter cable. The 385 was working fine when I took it off to use the Helix so something has changed since then.
I will contact MK and see if they will swap out the cable and hope that is it. Sure don't want the hassle of trying to fix/replace the built in transducer on the TM.

Well I have run out of simple fixes. The problem is in the transducer. I got a new cable and tried it today with same results. This is disappointing since I only got it to use on the I-Pilot. I don't know what happened, it has not been damaged or banged around. It worked fine until a month or so ago.
Only thing I can do is mount the HB transducer on the TM or try to get the US2 transducer repaired.

Have you taken off the Minn Kota top cap to see if anything is noticeable wrong ... ??

Not yet, that is my next step. Was pretty cold in the garage yesterday when I tried the new cable out so waiting for it to warm up a bit.
