    I am looking at the garmin 94sv. Any opinions out there on this unit will be appreciated.

    I've been looking at these, too. Trying to decide between a Hummingbird 9 series or this. I was told that the 94sv is for salt water and the 93sv is for fresh water. Is that true?

    The Garmin Echomap 93sv has the 77/200khz down/side Vu transducer and comes with the Lake Vu HD freshwater maps and the Echomap 94sv has the 50/200khz down /side Vu transducer and comes with the BlueChart G2 coastal maps.

    The Echomaps have been selling extremely well. I would suggest checking the Garmin site to make sure your lakes are covered in the detail you may need.
